Seattle Trip

Trip to Seattle this weekend. Samantha and Oliver went ahead with grandma and grandpa to stay in Lynnwood.  We left after work and hit an accident on the Oak St Bridge. Then, if course, border waits, plus an accident on the I-5.

After the kids had a morning swim we headed out for breakfast and then to the American Girl store in Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood.  Samantha got her doll's ears pierced, a hairdo, and lunch at the bistro. The food was pretty good actually. Oliver was bored to tears so the boys went to the Lego store to check out their Star Wars offerings. He picked out a space ship and a snow speeder.

Later we hit Seattle to browse the Public Market and checked out the boardwalk with the Ferris Wheel. I'm not sure what was going on but when we tried to leave for our hotel room in Seatac it took ninety minutes.  And I thought Vancouver traffic weather was bad!  There were no hotel rooms available in Seattle anywhere, luckily I found a room Seatac, which unfortunately was kind of a dump.

Next morning,  again after the kids had a dip, we set out for Seattle.  We tried for the space needle but the wait was over three hours.  Instead we visited the Children's Museum which was close by at the Amory.  We learned about how children lived in different parts of the world, the forest, and some science stuff.

Fun trip, but next time I think we'll visit when it's less busy.
