On the way up

Oliver on his treasure hunt
We set off early this morning for a trip to the ranch. We asked Oliver what he wanted to do for his birthday and he chose to come up to the ranch for the weekend.

Ken and I set to work getting the Trooper back on the road, so to speak. Actually, on this trip she did get out onto the road as we insured her and I drove her into town to fill up. It's a bit of an odd feeling knowing a full gas tank actually changes the value of your vehicle.  We fixed the leak in the exhaust system, filled the tires, grabbed the screwdriver/key and I was off!

Marilyn had a treasure hunt already set up for the birthday boy. He did a tour of the farm while collecting his birthday bounty. He got a hammer, a saw, two screwdrivers, a tape measure, needle nosed pliers, and a tool box. I'm jealous: all his tools and toolbox are nicer than mine! (He may let me borrow them from time to time) This was followed by Oliver's requested favourite dinner of spaghetti and meatballs. After dinner, Oliver and Ken went to check on the cattle.
