NYC 20160815

Today we didn't do much at all.  We wandered around not far from our hotel, just within blocks and checked out some shops.  We didn't want to stray to far, we had a show to go to and needed to be there for 7pm.  We rummaged through some of the tourists shops and had a trip down memory lane at a used store that sold old computers, games.  We had an amazing lunch at a local deli and some coffee at Starbucks for the wifi.  After that we made a quick stop by the hotel and then we were off for the show.
We had tickets for Drunken Shakespeare, which was said to be something very similar to Druken history.  We were the first to arrive being a little ahead of the game but we didn't want to miss out, they assigned the seating as you arrived. We were not disappointed.  As we entered we were given a shot of whiskey and led to seats that were right in the thick of it.  We ordered a couple of PBR's and settled in.  Cameras were welcome but not many people used them, we didn't want to miss any of what was going on.  There was five actors in total, one lucky or not so lucky actor was selected and ended to have about 4-6 shots throughout the night.  One lucky audience member was selected to share a shot with the lucky Aubrey.  She had to have about 4 in total one after the other.   She introduced herself and noted that her day job was a pre-school teacher, that's right, she was teaching all of our offspring their ABC's and 123's.   The troupe labeled themselves as a Drinking club with a Shakespeare problem.
The show for the night was to be MacBeth, Miss Aubrey played McDuff along with some other parts including one of the three witches.  Point of order was called from time to time when one of the actors wanted to have a time out and ask 'Dude, what the hell do you mean by the milk of human kindness'. After it was discussed and hashed out they counted down, 1, 2, 3, Shakespeare and the show was back on.  Throughout the show this happened with the Point of Order and countdown to get the show back on the road.  At one point a challenge was held for the drunken Actor and she was asked to receipt a soloquiy from another of his plays.  The tempo was fast paced and occasionally we slipped into 20th century speak, with Lady and Lord McBeth talking about how their therapist had told them.  "Honey, I hear what you are saying, and I acknowledge that maybe you don't want to kill the queen.  I have processed what you have said and have heard you.  However, girl needs to die."
Some of it was quite serious, some of it quite hilarious and interactive.  Adams head was caressed and complimented on his conditioner, my eyes were called fair, My toes were stepped on and was admonished because it happened during a particularly dramatic portion.
The show was amazing and we had a great time.  After that we stopped by a bar and had a couple Martinis and a couple beers, back to the hotel for a relatively early night.  Tomorrow or the next day we are going to try and do a hop on Hop off bus tour and maybe a museum, either tomorrow or the next we are also going to try and walk the Brooklyn Briddge.
